The committee consists of 7 students, all of them studying Electrical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology. These students are involved with several extracurricular activities and are now working together towards a study tour to Brazil.
After a very successful study tour to Japan as participant in 2011 Teun knew he wanted to organize such a trip himself. After fulfilling a position in the board of Thor as Vice-President and Commissioner of Public Relations, he finally got the chance to participate in the organizing committee of the study tour of 2014. As Chairman of this Committee, he overviews the main travel plan. He is convinced that the tour to Brazil will be a great success and a wonderful experience for the committee and the participants.
Manon heard great stories about the study tour to Japan and participated in a short foreign excursion to England herself. To this day, Manon regrets not taking part in the study tour to Japan. That is why she decided to organize a study tour herself. After gathering other interested committee members, the very rewarding task of organising a three week tour could start. Currently, she is discovering the interesting culture of Brazil.
Despite his study and a full time job as sound engineer, Bart has found time to organize a study tour. He is very enthusiastic about the country of Brazil. The beautiful environment, the fascinating culture and the thriving technology excite him. Apart from taking care of the financials, he hopes to organize many cultural and technical excursions.
From his childhood onwards, Rob was very fond of seeing foreign countries and understanding other cultures. That is why he was interested to organize a trip to another country from the very beginning. When he heard others were interested as well, he immediately joined the committee. At the moment he is working hard to gather the necessary funds for the study tour.
During his year as Secretary of the board of study association Thor, Sjoerd became interested in organising several events, one of which was the study tour. At the beginning, he was afraid it would take up too much time besides his board position and his studies. However, he could not let this one time opportunity go. He joined the organisation of the study tour to offer other students the great experiences he heard about from the participants of the study tour to Japan.
Elles gained a great deal of experience in her functions as Treasurer and Commissioner of Education of study association Thor. She decided to use this knowledge by taking part in the organisation of the study tour. Elles contributes very much to the tour, despite spending some time in Austria for an internship. Her creative side can be seen in the look and feel of the publications. She hopes to give this study tour a refreshing and modern image.
Pieter is very active in multiple associations including Thor, where he spent a year as a member of the board as Commissioner of Education. After organizing two short foreign excursions, he decided to join the organisation of a three week study tour to Brazil. His extensive knowledge about organising foreign tours is very useful in organising this trip. Because of his appreciation of sights, he will make sure there will be plenty cultural excursions. He hopes to obtain a wide vision on Brazilian culture and technology during the trip.
